Leading West Virginia Insurer Joins Jopari’s Nationwide Payer Network

brickstreetConcord, CA and Charleston, WV—November 10, 2014 — BrickStreet Mutual Insurance Company has partnered with Jopari Solutions, the principal supplier of medical EDI services and connectivity networks to Providers and Payers in Property & Casualty markets, to implement industry standard eBilling connectivity with BrickStreet’s multi-state network of medical providers.

BrickStreet’s eBill solution utilizes EDI transaction formats developed by the International Association of Industrial Accident Boards and Commissions (IAIABC), which align with ASC X12 standards. Many jurisdictions have already implemented eBilling rules conforming to the IAIABC’s electronic billing and payment guidelines; while a number of additional states are moving toward implementing similar requirements.
BrickStreet’s decision to use the IAIABC EDI transaction formats is significant in that these formats comprise the national standard for submission of commercial claims that is integral to billing systems medical Providers participating in Jopari’s national connectivity network use to exchange EDI transactions with other Property and Casualty Payers.

Fred Boothe, VP of Claims for BrickStreet, remarked “Our implementation with Jopari allows BrickStreet to utilize the national standard formats, which will assist our Providers and organization to move towards a full end-to-end electronic transaction environment. Our enhanced EDI capability with Jopari complements BrickStreet’s already strong relationships with our Provider trading partners, will benefit the care and recovery of injured workers, and reflects positively on our valued policyholders.”
Stated J.R. “Steve” Stevens, CEO of Jopari: “We are extremely pleased with the opportunity to work with BrickStreet, one of the Property and Casualty industry’s important and highly respected Payers. Our partnership is yet another sign the industry is visualizing and taking aggressive steps to improve efficiency and bottom line performance by leveraging electronic connectivity between the Provider and Payer communities. Going forward, connectivity relationships, of the kind BrickStreet and Jopari are building, are utterly essential to maintaining strong business relationships and continually improving results. Our organization is excited to be able to assist BrickStreet in achieving these goals.”
