TASB Risk Management Fund SELECTS JOPARI MEDICAL EDI GATEWAY FOR E-BILL COMPLIANCE

Premier Statewide Educational Association Taps Jopari to Implement Electronic Billing and Provider Connectivity Services in Preparation for January 2008 Mandate

AUSTIN, TX and CONCORD, CA—October 15, 2007—The TASB Risk Management Fund (TASB RMF) has selected Jopari’s Medical EDI Gateway to support their workers’ compensation program compliance with electronic medical billing (eBill) requirements going into effect January 2008. The Fund will utilize a comprehensive eBill compliance platform supplied by Jopari Solutions, Inc.

The TASB RMF Medical EDI Gateway will be made available to health care providers in conjunction with TASB RMF’s participation in the Political Subdivision Workers’ Compensation Alliance and the Alliance’s health care provider direct contracting program. The Alliance’s provider agreements define administrative and medical management aspects of injured worker treatment pursuant to Labor Code provisions and adopted rules applicable to political subdivisions specifically. Adopted rules for eBill processing under TAC Title 28, Subchapter G, sections 133.500 and 133.501 are mandatory for all system participants.

TASB RMF Gateway arrangements with Jopari allow for conforming electronic medical bill and attachment delivery, bill indexing and data element validation and bill data conversion to the proscribed standardized electronic format. Jopari will facilitate provider trading partner administration & connectivity on behalf of TASB RMF and participating health care providers. EDI Gateway services will extend to transmission of ANSI X12N 835 remittance advice (ERA) transactions, using Texas defined data specifications, to report explanations of payments, reductions, and denial to the providers.
