Concord, CA.and Dublin, CA. — February 7, 2006 — In a groundbreaking announcement today, Jopari Solutions, Inc., the technology leader in bill-to-payment automation services for insurance payers, and JT2 Integrated Solutions, Inc., a leading third party administrator handling claims for 60 public agency insurance programs throughout California, reported an agreement to implement the industry’s first paperless medical bill and attachment processing solution. The new service provides JT2’s clients in California with a comprehensive compliance platform for pending e-bill regulations, and integrates bill processing capability with existing payment automation services rolled out by Jopari and JT2 in 2004.
The two companies emphasized the total paperless solution solves the problem California employers and payers face in preparing for pending regulations requiring employers to accept electronic claims for payment of medical services. Implementing regulations for the state’s labor code, LC§ 4603.4, expected to take effect in 2006, will impose increased payment penalties on employers unable to accept and turn around electronic medical bill payments within 15 days —fully two-thirds faster than the timeframe allowed for payment of conventional paper bills.

Offering the first-of-its-kind total electronic processing for workers’ compensation medical bills, Jopari’s service features the acceptance of electronic as well as paper bills & attachments from multiple sources, including medical providers, clearinghouses and pharmacies. Electronic and paper bill information is converted to payer specified data or image formats, and delivered to the payer. The eBill service either integrates with payers existing document management systems, or provides a web based document management solution enabling paperless processing. Once the payer releases the bill to bill review, bill data can be imported directly into the bill review system, avoiding costly data entry functions. Post adjudication activity is completed through automated payment processing by Jopari, including the ability to make payments via EFT and delivery of electronic EOR’s to providers and payees.
