Medical Record Request Automation, EFT and Payment Cards Will Advance Administrative Simplification

Concord, CA—August 18, 2014 — Jopari Solutions, a principal supplier of workers’ compensation eBilling and payment services, is adding significant new capabilities to the Company’s leading EDI product suite, to be unveiled at the Workers’ Compensation Institute’s 69th Annual Workers’ Compensation Educational Conference, August 17-20, 2014 in Orlando, FL. These capabilities include automated medical record requests and expanded EFT and Payment Card medical payment options for Payers.

Jopari currently connects hundreds of thousands of Providers, their practice management systems, and clearinghouses to thousands of employers and Payers nationwide, enabling electronic exchange of medical bills and attachments. The addition of medical record request automation and expanded medical payment processing options offer two innovative means for the industry to achieve administrative simplification.

According to J.R. “Steve” Stevens, Jopari’s Chairman and CEO, “So far this year, Jopari has processed nearly 200,000 bills for Florida Providers, with an average remittance response time of 10 days – delivering substantial improvements in coordination for Providers as well as Payers, while eliminating the traditional paper workflow challenges. Nationwide, Jopari is processing nearly 600,000 bills and 1 Million attachments monthly, with an average remittance response of 14 days, on behalf of participating Payers and Providers.”

“As more and more states enact electronic medical transaction requirements” added Mr. Stevens, “and more Providers and Payers understand the benefits of eliminating the paper exchange, medical billing is not the only time and paper consuming challenge in the workers’ compensation industry that needs a solution. Workflow supporting requests for additional documentation, medical records and posting of payments are also costly administrative burdens.”

To assist Payers and Providers in overcoming these challenges, Jopari has added to its product suite the ability for medical records requests to be automated. Requests for medical records almost always involve a cumbersome back and forth exchange of faxes and phone calls, resulting in wasted time and expense imposed on both requester and Provider staffs. To attack these frictional costs, Jopari has established a strategic partnership with ChartSwap – the industry innovator for secure, electronic medical records request management. Fully integrating ChartSwap products allows both companies to deliver a vast network of medical-record connected Providers and Payers to their clients.

Jopari is also announcing at WCEC the debut of Jopari ProPay®, an expanded suite of payment capabilities designed for Payers, PPO Networks and others who issue reimbursements for medical billings. Stated Mr. Stevens, “Jopari has supplied check and EFT payment processing products to Payers for many years, and we are pleased to add Department of Health & Human Services (HHS) conforming EFT/ERA payments and reimbursements via payment card to our products suite. Payers now have the ability, based on their processing needs, to render payments as traditional checks and EORs, national standard EFT/ERA payments, and payment card services.”

The comprehensive array of payment methods Jopari now offers allows medical Providers to select, via online enrollment, the payment option for insurance Payer reimbursements that best fits their accounts receivable preferences. Flexible payment options will help Providers streamline the process of posting payments and reduce time consuming bill reconciliation; and for Payers will strengthen their Provider relationships.

Jopari is making these enhanced medical EDI tools available nationally, offering Payers the flexibility for their payment methods to be bank agnostic by allowing their existing financial arrangements to be incorporated into Jopari’s ProPay program.

Attendees at the 2014 WCEC are invited to stop by BOOTH 922 and talk with the Jopari and ChartSwap teams about these exciting new offerings.[/fusion_text][/fusion_builder_column][/fusion_builder_row][/fusion_builder_container]
