James R. Kennedy

Member of the Board

Mr. Kennedy’s extensive experience in the banking industry, especially in the payments technology area, affords him with the expertise necessary to direct and advise Jopari on payment technology solutions as well as positioning Jopari offerings within target industry segments.

Mr. Kennedy currently serves as Executive Vice President for the Specialized Depository Division at Bank of the West. In this capacity, he is engaged in deploying large-scale payment technology solutions to a broad range of payment-intensive industries. He has an extensive background in strategic planning, merger integration leadership, product development on both a domestic and international scale, treasury product positioning/marketing and commercial sales. In his various assignments over the years, he has developed specific expertise in the areas of electronic payment settlement, payment fraud and risk management, imaging and Check 21, and electronic commerce and EDI.

He is a graduate of Duke University, has an MBA in Finance w/distinction from the Katz Business School, University of Pittsburgh, and is a Certified Treasury Professional (CTP). He is on the faculty of the U.C. Berkeley Haas School of Business Treasury Management Program and is a member of the Payment Systems Committee of the American Banker’s Association.
